Are you interested in serving on the GDA Board?

Please review board members commitments:

1. I will interpret and convey the organization’s work and value to the membership, represent the organization, and act as a spokesperson for the organization when the situation so requires.
2. I will pay dues in a timely fashion to maintain my membership with the organization.
3. I will attend and participate in the board member orientation as it is offered.
4. I will attend at least seventy-five (75%) of the organization’s board meetings which are held the fourth Tuesday of every month from 11 am to 1 pm.
5. I understand that missing three consecutive meeting without notification I may be subject to removal.
6. I will actively participate on at least one board committee and attend 75% of committee meetings.
7. I will attend and participate in the organization’s annual work plan meeting.
8. I will act in the best interests of the organization and recuse myself from discussions and votes where I have a conflict of interest, in accordance with the Georgia Downtown Association’s current conflict of interest policy.
9. I will stay informed of the organization’s activities. I will ask questions and request information. I will participate in and take responsibility for making decisions on issues, policies, and our goals.
10. That I will work in good faith with staff and other board members as partners in the achievement of our goals.
11. I understand I will approximately contribute 5 to 7 hours each month to complete my Georgia Downtown Association board member duties.
12. If I do not fulfill these commitments to the organization, I will expect the Board President to call me and discuss my responsibilities with me.
